My name is Avery Wu and I am the Founder and President of Policy Central. I am currently a junior at Granite Bay High School. I have always had a passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Since last year, I have been a Youth Commissioner at the Placer County Youth Commission (PCYC). PCYC strives to make a difference for youth in my community by tackling issues such as mental health, vaping, and diversity/equity. I was fortunate enough to be selected to serve as the Co-Chair of the Diversity/Equity Subcommittee last year. In addition, this year, I was selected to serve as Chair of the Diversity/Equity Subcommittee. As well as being on PCYC, I was selected to be a member of the National NCL (National Charity League) DEI Council. Each member will be hosting a book drive in their own community to help collect books for underprivileged kids.
